Numerous Hanoians can be seen not wearing a face mask when in public, despite the sharp rise in new community cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Face coverings are now mandatory in many public areas, although it is fairly common to spot people without them.

A number of people walking around the streets of the capital fail to wear face masks.

Even elderly people, who are at a higher risk of suffering severe illness or even death from COVID-19, still choose not to follow regulations.

Plenty of the capital’s residents appear comfortable as they chat in a confined space.

Many gather simply to play chess.

A couple at a flower market fail to wear any face mask.

: Hanoians still tend to gather in public places without taking any preventative steps or ensuring they keep a minimum distance of two metres apart as required.

Despite numerous COVID-19 prevention and warning signs throughout the capital, lots of people are still ignoring the advice.
